Pizza
The new-breed Bondi eatery is noisy, drink-y, share-y and cool. Try this one for size. The original Hall Street hardware store has morphed into a long, candlelit, cave-like room, with flickering tea-lights, palm fronds, high banquettes, distressed walls and craft beers; and an infectious liveliness that packs in the punters. They come to drink but also to eat - take your pick from crisp-edged, stringy-cheesed pepperoni and mushroom pizza, a suite of luscious little pork belly sliders (with pickled cabbage and apple chutney) or a summery-light beetroot, fetta and watermelon salad. Fun times.
