It's a long way from the streets of Bangkok to the pristine white surrounds of the sixth floor of Westfield's city incarnation. But it feels a logical next step for this Thainatown street-food stalwart, after successes across the 'burbs. Westfield is its most upmarket incarnation, but there's the same bustle, the same roar of flames from the open kitchen, and the same queues loitering at the entrance. There's also the same mix of tantalising dumplings, curries and desserts. The skewers - try the pork - are a must, as are crisp, moulded morsels of fried green-curried prawn mousseline with pickled plum sauce. The curries come with variable heat, while fish dumplings, wok-fried with green peppercorns, are fiery and delicious. Staff with electronic order pads race around efficiently, and the exposed brick walls and box-like wooden ceiling provide dark respite from the blitz of white outside. For sweet-tooths, the slightly sweet, slightly salty black sticky rice goes surprisingly well with a glass of sticky. Also at Haymarket, Manly Wharf, Randwick & The Galeries Victoria
