This graceful hotel stretches along the highway and opens into a spacious dining room with an open fireplace, or you can take a seat outside. There are no surprises on the menu: burgers, wraps, pasta, bangers and mash, lasagne, chicken and salmon fillets. The real drawcard is a high-top pie: beef, Guinness and mushroom; lamb, garlic, mint and rosemary or chicken, mushroom, mustard and thyme come in a deep dish with a mound of shiny puff pastry on top. But call ahead. If it's quiet, they don't open for lunch.
