Grove Inn

Good Food hat15/20

The Grove is an elderly red-brick pub with few pretensions, walls lined with ageing football memorabilia including tributes to departed regulars, the lovely old tables and wooden bars preserved rather than renovated. The family-friendly bistro delivers simple and tasty food with steak, chicken and pasta dishes making up the bulk of the menu. The herb and mozzarella bread made a good shared entree, while the ridiculously large $10 spaghetti bolognese was great value. The steaks were good value too, but the standout dish was a smoked salmon linguine with pinenuts and baby spinach in a smooth and creamy white wine sauce.
