Hanoi Quan

Vietnamese

Vietnamese restaurants are a dime a dozen in this part of Marrickville, but Hanoi Quan - with its kitschy, straight-out-of-Miss-Saigon decor, affordable prices and large servings - has stood strong against the fierce competition. You'll find all the usual suspects: pho with subtly spiced broth and delicate meat, rice-paper rolls and Vietnamese salads with fresh, vibrant vegies. Service is less vivacious, but gets the job done. The Central Vietnamese speciality of bun cha ca - rice noodle soup with wonderful peppery tomato flavour and springy fishcake strips - is a veritable feast. In fact, all the portions here are huge, so either order modestly, or consider your next meal covered, too.
