Lao Village

Asian

It sure feels like a Lao village when you're huddling outside with a host of expats already digging into their beer stash, waiting for your number to be called. The queues are justifiable for the moreish Lao pork sausage alone; chewy with a sticky rice filling. The room is quite basic, but service is swift and sweet. Lao-style fried rice is so texturally addictive - it's both soft and crunchy - that it's guaranteed to vanish in minutes. For those unaccustomed to Lao food, think Thai with the likes of pawpaw salad and tom yum; for the pros, or those with adventurous palates, duck embryo and tripe might hit the spot.
