Lisbon Love Patisserie

Contemporary

Sometimes it’s hard to get in the door of this coffee hub which, according to some devotees, sells Portuguese tarts superior to those found in Portugal itself. Apart from the stellar house-made sweets - the walnut roll and chocolate eclair go nearly as quickly as those tarts - get toasted sandwiches with spicy eggplant, deli meats and cheese, pies and brioche. Also be early for the fresh-out-of-the-oven pane di casa. The crusty loaves hit the counter at 9am, as does the chorizo bread - smaller loaves with a spicy interior. Expect extra crowds on the second Saturday of the month, when Panania has its village market.
