As well as running the fine-dining restaurant Muse at Hungerford Hill, Troy and Megan Rhoades-Brown also look after this more informal restaurant at the new Keith Tulloch winery. The styles may be very different, but the customer focus and smart, efficient service remain the same. The garden setting is faux provencal and utterly delightful. French iron fold-up chairs and cafe tables are arranged under large, shady umbrellas outside, while inside is a calm, restful whitewashed space. Munch on pork hock croque monsieur - a triple whammy of pork hock rillettes, gruyere and dijon bechamel sandwiched between thick, buttery slices of toasted sourdough, with green salad leaves offering light relief. Onion soup, with the traditional gruyere crouton, is sweet and luscious, and while beetroot risotto was a little heavy, it is a technicolour delight with brussels sprouts, pumpkin and Binnorie goat's curd scattered over the top. Seasonal figs are given the right royal treatment, served with honey ice-cream and shortbread crumble.
