Tapas

Wine nerds and sherry nuts will get their thrills from the bible-sized drinks list at this hideaway tapas bar. But the real fun starts when you surrender decision-making to the wine waiters' expertise and simply taste, smile and nod. Zealous hospitality and a floor-to-ceiling Spanish wine display are just part of the attraction here - amble in on a 'quiet' weeknight and you'll feel like a local in a Barcelona bodega; squeeze in for Friday drinks and it's abuzz with suits sipping from carafes. And don't underestimate the food, an assortment of want-to-try-them-all tapas that are generous in size and rich in flavour. Share moreish snacks, cheeses or seafood such as razor clams served with jamon, peas and broad beans, or buffer your wine sampling with meatier options such as spiced lamb shoulder with yoghurt, or jamon with a superb mushroom and black truffled tart. A chocolate terrine with olive oil and salt flakes is yet another triumph of quality ingredients.
