Pub dining$$
It doesn't get much more Australian than a succulent and deliciously messy coat of arms pizza (kangaroo and emu) in this historic pub close by the Harbour Bridge. Throw in a few schooners of boutique beer and the authentic etched signage and saloon-bar doors, and the Aussie experience is complete. The pavlova stack is a tottering creamy confection standing tall above a passionfruit coulis and flanked by a couple of slabs of rocky road. The waiter was impressed - it was the first time he'd seen this addition to the menu - and passing patrons exclaimed Oh my god, what's that? It tasted pretty good, too.
