Modern Australian$$
This is a no-frills bistro in supposedly North Sydney's oldest existing pub. The menu may be modest, with usual suspects plus the odd curry and seafood basket, but the fare is satisfying. A beef and Guinness 'crispy lid' pie (one of three 'famous' pie options) came with standard salad and chips. The pie itself was anything but average: large, tender pieces of beef in a tasty pie sauce, wrapped in delicate pastry. A chicken schnitzel impressed with its texture and flavour. No desserts, and the room is a tad breezy on a winter's night, but the warm vibe helps you enjoy the positives.
