The White Hart

Good Food hat15/20

$$

The White Hart delivers from the moment you are greeted by a tiara-wearing stag's head. The fitout is English gentry meets urban chic. Danny Russo's menu excites with cute-as-can-be arancini flecked with truffle and parmesan; prawn and potato croquettes are delicious, though lack crustacean punch; pumpkin salad with goat's cheese and pinenuts is addictive, but it's the paper-wrapped, hand-cut sweet potato chips which will have you duelling for the last rascal. Be sure to try the mead, an olde summery tipple that should seriously knock Pimm's off the block. Eclectic wall hangings include a regal embalmed 'Keep Calm and Carry on' sign.
