Pub dining$$
It's hard to hear above the Saturday lunchtime din in the ivy-walled beer garden. Some Brits are enjoying a jug of Pimm's and bangers and mash, and a hen's party is growing wilder as a fillet steak with chimichurri and patatas bravas arrives. While a little cold and, at $28, slightly tapas-sized, the next dish, a blue-eye fillet with radicchio, pancetta and pinenut salad, proved a winner. The throw-down sliders and bucket o' wings were suitably filling and fatty. By the end of feasting the crowd had thinned, which was just as well: someone needed space to roll out.
