Liaison has recently been taken over by new owners Carlo and Odette Locastro, but the smooth pace of this busy little cafe hasn't missed a beat. It's still an old-school coffee experience with Genovese beans ground to order and brewed through a Wega machine. Expect a spicy, peppery short black ($3) with creamy body and a mildly bitter finish, perfect for banishing a mid-afternoon energy slump. Food options are limited in this tiny space but great pastries, a couple of sandwiches and a classic tuna salad will please even the pickiest.
