Pasta Emilia

Italian$$

Pasta Emilia moved its pasta-making laboratorio from Bronte to Surry Hills in 2013, along with the pastel-painted wall of the old shop, jars of house-made arrabbiata sauce, and big wooden share tables that make you feel you’re in an Italian kitchen. It’s a charming, calming, cottagey spot with a simple lunch menu of antipasti, salumi, and artisanal, organic, filled ravioli and tortelli. If the strozzapreti with a gutsy bolognese ragu is on, do it. Breakfasts are of scrambled eggs with truffle butter or simple panini, and velvety Little Marionette organic coffee. Take home some pasta and sauce and you have dinner sorted, too.
