If you can't find Chinese broccoli, any leafy Asian green will do – bok choy, gai lan and tatsoi all work well. If you don't have a barbecue, cook the greens in a wok with sesame oil.

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Chinese broccoli

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 2 tbsp kecap manis

  • ¼ bunch green onions, finely sliced

  • 2 long red chillies, finely sliced

  • 3 cups cooked brown rice

Method

  1. Heat barbecue on high.

Drizzle Chinese broccoli with sesame oil and char on the grill.

It's ready when the stalks start to soften.

Remove from barbecue and place in a serving dish, then drizzle with kecap manis and garnish with green onions and chilli.

Serve with the brown rice and eat immediately with Three Blue Ducks twice cooked sticky duck recipe.
