"We cooked a curry from Longrain the other night," says account manager, Hayley Briggs, from Sydney's inner west. "It was delicious and ready just in time – before Game of Thrones started," she laughs. "Greg and I share the prep. The instructions are so easy to follow, and we have a glass of wine and catch up on each other's day while we cook."

Briggs is talking about The Cook's Grocer, a fresh, home-delivery meal service that has just partnered with Good Food to help households with a solution to the "What are we having for dinner tonight?" meal conundrum.

"I think I'm a pretty good cook, but after eight hours at the office, ferrying small children to and from daycare in the hours before and after work, getting them to bed and then having to think about the shopping and dinner … some days it's all just too much and I end up with an unhealthy takeaway option," says Yvette Cook, who hails from the Eastern Suburbs. "Not anymore. The Cook's Grocer has literally vanquished takeaway from our house. I don't have to think about what to cook for dinner, and I also don't have to do the shopping. It's such a relief to have the ingredients and the recipe in the fridge, waiting to be made."

With meals comprising up to 10 ingredients, The Cook's Grocer's meals usually take 30-45 minutes to rustle up. "We also partner with top restaurants to get fast options from dishes on their menu," says founder Tim Ryder. "Restaurants like Nomad, Longrain and The Apollo work with us to create tasty dishes that everyone can easily follow and cook from home. The result is restaurant-quality meals you can have every night."

The produce they use is also the same as those restaurants source. "It's the same fish, chicken or red meat – it's incredibly fresh and flavoursome," says Ryder.

Good Food's partnership with the Cook's Grocer launches today. "The main aim of Good Food, is to bring 'good food' into everyone's life," says editor, Nedahl Stelio. "Whether that's via an expert review so you know where to go out to dinner, delicious recipes from our chef contributors, and now in a brand new way – delivering fresh, ready to cook meals into your home. It's extending the Good Food brand and message in a way that's never been done before."

Every week, Good Food will showcase recipes from The Cook's Grocer that you can make yourself at home with ingredients you've bought, or choose to get the whole thing wrapped in a brown paper bag and sent to your home.

"It's become a great ritual now," says Briggs, "with an added bonus – my husband has never been much of a cook, but he's totally embraced this. It gets us both in the kitchen which is just amazing."

Bonding over food, that's what we like to see.
