Shizuku

Japanese$$

The ramen burger sits somewhere between brilliant and crazy. On the one hand, how cute: a burger with noodles for buns. But in your hands, it’s hard to wrangle and, if you’ve ordered the miso jam-eggplant filling, it may be a little cloying. The darkly attractive Shizuku, its black interior smartly lit by a swarm of pendant lights like a jellyfish bloom, does straight, too: ramen, and house-made burnished pork-and-cabbage gyoza. But its mad-genius twitch is hard to ignore, particularly in the starters: confounding dehydrated cheese-and-nori puffs, and addictive karaage popcorn chicken. Give over and give Shizuku a try.
