Sushi House Ben-K

Japanese

It’s true to say Ben-K’s decor is dominated by a drinks fridge, but that doesn’t do this neat, cheap, 15-year-old Japanese stalwart justice. They’ve updated the chairs and tables in the tiny space, after all. And once the first plates land – whether perky pork gyoza, sticky-sweet grilled eggplant or made-to-order sushi – you’re likely to be more concerned about chopsticks skills. It’s possible to refuel here for as little as $10 a head, and quality belies price whether it’s moist teriyaki salmon, griddle-kissed okonomiyaki or one of the great-value dinner deals: $15.50 for miso, main, side dish, fruit and dessert.
