Though prices at the Sumalee Thai restaurant can seem high the serves are inflated too, as the plates are meant for sharing. Duck spring rolls give an old favourite some new depth of flavour; Thai pork ribs in sweet curry and basil come on a banana leaf and have a wonderfully moreish curry sauce bursting with fresh herbs. A stir-fry of fresh king prawns with garlic, pepper and three green vegetables seems deceptively simple, but the garlicky sauce is tasty yet light and is a nice counterpoint to the rich ribs. This feast is all served in a beer garden full of dark wood bench seating and potted palms.
