The Baron

Modern Australian$$

The name might suggest nobility but there’s nothing quite so posh or proper going on at this grungy local hang. Well, OK, the staff are polite but in a casual way that suits the boutique beer and coffee swilling scene. The menu’s fun and ranges from seasonal salads comprising farm fresh local vegies to a diet-busting tribute to Elvis (in a slider with peanut butter and bacon). The peppery bacon and egg roll with irresistibly runny yolk, avocado, house-made aioli and tomato relish is one of the best you’ll find. When they finish that train station across the road, we’ll be on the daily express to The Baron.
