The Union Hotel Brunswick

Neighbourhood-pub dreams are made of this: an out-of-the-way location, a leafy beer garden, live music (and we're not talkin' cover bands) and an everybody-knows-your-name atmosphere. The Union hits all those benchmarks, and it dishes up top-notch pub grub. Case in point: scotch fillet steak, where medium rare, as requested, means precisely that, served atop mashed potato. Chilli-bean enchiladas come covered in sour cream and guacamole, studded with chunks of jalapeno and served with a salad. A parma veers towards the posh, topped with Virginia leg ham, napoli and Swiss cheese.
