Tyranny of Distance

Contemporary$$

Once a petrol station, this cafe-bar feels like an eatery set up by expats somewhere in tropical Asia. Cocktails and ciggies are best enjoyed in the semi-outdoor area, where recycled gas bottle lights and cacti in teaware spruce up the industrial space. Inside it’s all hot-pink walls, chequered vinyl tablecloths and attentive staff. Come for generous breakfasts (served until 4pm), or graze your way from lunch through to dinner with the likes of sticky pork ribs with roasted paprika potatoes or flavour-packed gyoza skin nachos with smoked chicken, caramelised onion, barbecue sauce, smoked cheddar and guacamole.
