Brighton Schoolhouse

Contemporary$$

Set in a beautiful old building with cathedral ceilings and a classroom vibe, Brighton Schoolhouse deserves top marks for a breakfast list that includes things like bircher with lavender; and potato and leek hash with plump salmon, kale and slow-cooked egg. Lunch might be fennel salad with thyme-honey croutons, a Warialda beef burger or well-balanced sandwiches, with a deconstructed Rocky Road to follow. Some dishes might stretch a tight budget but there’s no doubting the quality of the produce. It’s super kid-friendly, too, with a decent mini-menu, coloured pencils and a playground beside the herb-fringed outdoor dining area.
