Wodonga's heritage-listed railway station is now home to a slick restaurant run by Jodie Jones and Steven Carne, who won hearts at Albury's Sourcedining and the Kitchen at the Courthouse at Howlong. They've revamped the western end of the station, which closed in 2008, installing an open galley kitchen and smartening up the interior while making a feature of the 1870s brickwork. Jones' Euro-centric menu showcases regional produce and plenty of technique - the kitchen even churns its own butter, which is then lightly smoked. An entree of house-made salmon terrine or duck liver parfait with brioche and sweet-and-sour raisins tempts, while the signature seared duck breast marries well with its accompanying rhubarb, apple, cocoa and licorice. Steak lovers can choose from a 200g angus eye fillet or a 400g Sher wagyu rump, both sourced direct from the producers. Banana and macadamia sundae with hot salted caramel provides a flavour-filled finale.

All aboard.
