Sure, breakfast in bed and a bunch of blooms are good, but treating your mum to an experience - especially one that involves food and drink - is better. Here's our pick of the brunch, lunch and high teas in Melbourne this Mother's Day, Sunday 13th May.

1. A regional lunch by the bay

What: Terindah Estate (90 McAdams Lane, Bellarine) will make mum (and family) feel special with a complimentary glass of sparkling on arrival, a three-course set menu served at The Shed, a refined dining space overlooking the open laws, vines and views of Port Phillip Bay.

Details: $75 per person. Children under 12 years, $20 per child. To book, call 03 5251 5536 or visit terindahestate.com

2. Flowers and ice cream, literally together at last

What: Knock two of mum's favourite things off at once with a visit to Billy van Creamy (27-29 Best St, Fitzroy North) over Mother's Day weekend. Florists Candy MT will be selling fresh flowers with flair, alongside three limited edition flower infused flavours Chamomile & Turmeric, Lavender & Acai and Vegan Beetroot, Strawberry & Rose. Oh and there'll be Everyday coffee and Loafer pastries too. Win.
