Reasons to visit

The village of Milton dates back to 1860 and you can see its many heritage buildings on lantern-lit walking tours every Saturday night. More adventurous types can climb Pigeon House Mountain, which overlooks the town.

Local slow-food restaurant St. Isidore – named for the patron saint of farmers – prepares locally-sourced seasonal dishes for lunch Friday to Sunday and dinner Thursday to Saturday and was awarded one hat by The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2016. Pilgrims vegetarian cafe is also very well regarded.

"The region is blessed with wonderful local produce and we have five of the best restaurants in the state within a five kilometre radius.

Our supermarket has a range of gourmet items sourced from around 40 local producers. We stock product from Pointer Mountain Honey, Shoalhaven Mushrooms and Gzone Flower Farm, as well as local strawberries and blueberries. We also carry wines from Cupitt's Winery, Bawley Vale Estate Winery and Cambewarra Estate, which are very high quality and reasonably priced.
