McConnell brothers unite for one night only at Cutler & Co

All good things come in threes. Amigos. Back to the Future films. Bob Dylan albums from 1965 to 1966. Negroni ingredients. And, most terrifically, McConnell brothers.

Good Food has wrangled all three brothers McConnell for Bros Before Stoves, a one-off reader dinner to punch on your dance card, stat.

Andrew (Cutler & Co, Marion, Cumulus Inc, Supernormal), Matthew (Bar Lourinha) and Sean (Monster in Canberra) will be cooking two dishes each for a six-course carte on November 27 at Cutler & Co.

"Because I'm cooking on my home turf, I thought I'd let Matt and Sean put their dishes through first and I'll fill in the gaps and balance it out," says Andrew McConnell. "I know Sean has submitted a dessert involving chocolate, hazelnut, coffee and Fernet-Branca, which ticks all the boxes for me, particularly with Fernet being injected."

Matt McConnell is looking to bring cuttlefish and ink "cocido" with shaved lardo to the table, and pickled carrots with stracciatella cheese and pistachio.

Aussie wines from Nick Spencer, Unico Zelo and Shut The Gate will be flowing, plus biodynamic Champagne Fleury fizz from France.

"It'll be great to hang out and cook together," says Andrew McConnell. "As much as it's a serious dinner, it will also be very much a party."

The Good Food Guide will be available for purchase on the night for the special price of $25.
