OK, maybe chefs taking fish selfies wasn't the biggest food trend in 2017, but it was certainly the best.

Was it Josh Niland, the Neptunian chef of Sydney's Saint Peter who caused miffed mirror dory to replace freakshakes in our feeds? Or Josh Lewis from Fleet, always hiding shyly behind a monstrous tuna?

Whoever was responsible for the flush of fins, a tip of the cap. Thanks for making Instagram in 2017 a better plaice.
