What's the lowdown?

White Mojo Plus+ is a light and bright all-day diner that's super-serious about coffee – so serious it has an on-site roastery. The fitout is a cool Cape Cod-style oasis and the menu is sparkling cafe fare – toast with toppings such as compressed strawberries with ricotta and carob molasses, lavish spiced gingerbread french toast, a soft-shell crab croissant burger and a breakfast pasta with creamy leeks and smoked belly bacon.

Who's behind it?

Ben Luo and the team behind White Mojo in the CBD and Balwyn. The plus factor here comes from the addition of a dinner service, which will start in the next couple of weeks.

Why should you care?

Because it's another cracking addition to Glen Waverley and it's bringing a distinctive style with it. The coffee is off the charts, the wine list is designed with passion and smarts, swinging from familiar big brands to left-of-centre producers, and there are Bistro Morgan doughnuts to tempt you on entry. And while they could have crammed more tables into the place, they've resisted, maintaining a relaxing vibe.

If you only eat one thing

Go for broke with the aptly named mad mojo waffle (pictured) – a kaleidoscope of peanut butter snow and semifreddo, passionfruit curd, raspberry gel, freeze-dried and fresh fruit, vanilla ricotta, black sesame gel and an ink waffle cone. On a waffle. It'll melt your Insta feed.
