What's the story?

Three years on and still going strong, Neil Perry's latest Burger Project is raising the bar (quite literally). Open on Melbourne's busy Bourke Street, it's two striking storeys of American-style dining.

Burgers, fries and shakes on offer remain relatively the same but with added flair. As well as offering inside dining options, the Bourke Street location is fitted out with self-serve soda dispensers for all your fizzy dreams.

What is there to be excited about?

You already know about the soda machines but, anyone looking for a bit more pang in their punch will be excited to know The Burger Project is a licensed venue. The best time to enjoy a craft beer? Happy hour of course. From 3-6pm Monday to Friday you can choose from a selection of $5 beers and $10 burger and chips combinations.

For those looking for a more adventurous choice, give the Vegemite Burger a go. Yep, you read that right - it's the Burger Project's signature grass-fed beef patty on a Vegemite lathered bun. If you're hoping for a bite, it's worth noting the true-blue burger will only be on the menu until January 28.

What's on the menu?

The same staples with all your favourite shakes, fries and soft-serve combos. These include the 'classic' beef burger ($9.90 worth of onion, pickles, tomato, lettuce and secret sauce), the 'fried chicken katsu' burger ($11.90), and 'The Bounty Hunter' soft-serve ($5.90).

Although fan-favourites remain, the menu has been beefed up a bit with a limited-edition series of burgers inspired by different flavours and cuisines. The line-up, which changes every eight weeks, will start with The Mexican: loaded with chilli salsa, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream ($12.90 or $17.50 as a combo with a Cerveza Tecate beer). Talk about spicing things up.

Open Monday-Saturday, 11am-9pm.
