Adelaide chef Jock Zonfrillo seen checking out Longrain's Surry Hills site

Longrain served its last eggnet at the weekend at the Surry Hills HQ it has called home for nearly 20 years.

Now talk has turned to what's next at the Commonwealth Street property.

The big-boned warehouse space has attracted plenty of interest, and eagle-eyed readers have spotted some star power in the neighbourhood while sipping on macchiatos at nearby cafes.

Reports have been filtering back that Adelaide-based Scotsman Jock Zonfrillo has had the measuring tape out at Longrain. He'd certainly be a welcome addition to Surry Hills, and Sydney in general.

A regular on Australian TV food shows, Zonfrillo's Restaurant Orana is the reigning restaurant of the year in the Good Food Guide 2019. Word is it is a serious play.

Zonfrillo couldn't be reached for comment. We'll keep you posted.
