With Darlinghurst's Almond Bar closed early in the week, David Thompson protege Annita Potter has come up with a win-win. She'll open a two-day-a-week pop-up dishing up a Thai degustation at the Darlo venue, kicking off on Wednesday, October 14.

"They're helping me out and I can help out with the rent. I'm going to do it for a month. If it gets traction it'll go for longer," Potter says.

Potter has been Thompson's go-to chef as he's opened venues around the world, journeying from Nahm in London to Singapore, Hong Kong and briefly in Sydney for the opening of Long Chim.

Open Tuesdays and Wednesdays, $120 a head. Bookings via almondbar.com.au
