If the silly season has you feeling all bah humbug, here are two ways to eat, drink and be merry.

DineSmart is back for a 15th year, aiming to raise $250,000 for homelessness projects. Diners eating at some of Victoria's best restaurants before December 24 are invited to donate $1 a head to fund grassroots homeless services in the neighbourhood, suburb or region where the money is raised.

Restaurants such as BKK, Marion, Fitzroy Town Hall Hotel, Meat Maiden and Tipo 00 have joined long-time supporters such as Chin Chin, Ezard, Ladro, Punch Lane, Longrain and Top Paddock. Uber Eats will also donate $10 for every new customer who signs up using the DINESMART17 promo code.

For the list of participating restaurants, see streetsmartaustralia.org/dinesmart.

And hospitality social enterprise Scarf is launching its third Do More Than Drink campaign. From December 3 to December 10, 47 of Melbourne's favourite bars are providing an excuse for a guilt-free drink while raising money to train young people facing barriers to work.

Participating bars, including The Lincoln, Pallino, Bomba, Gerald's Bar, Seddon Wine Store and Toorak Cellars, will have a Do More Than Drink donation jar on the counter, and on the final weekend of the campaign will give Scarf $1 from every drink sold.

For participating bars, see domorethandrink.org/barpartners.
