Owners of popular Filipino restaurant Kusina have announced that the Weston Creek eatery is closing.

The closure was announced in a Facebook post on May 4, stating that Kusina would close some time in June.

"We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible before we close this chapter," the post said.

"When we embarked on this amazing journey 6 years ago we wanted to share our native Filipino cuisine with all of you. Long underrated, we felt it was time for Filipino cuisine to shine."

Opened by Canberran siblings Leilani Fox and Jon Ora in 2012, Kusina was well-known for their beef abodo, and their signature all-you-can-eat, eat-with-your-hands boodle feasts.

Over the years they have also had pop-ups at events, including the Enlighten Night Noodle Markets, and even the Handmade Markets just last weekend. Earlier this year they also opened sister venue Kanin at both the Woden and Belconnen Westfield shopping centre food courts. Both of those outlets closed on May 4.

The Weston Creek restaurant will continue to trade into June, with no fixed closing date yet confirmed, so there is still plenty of time get your Kusina fix. Just a tip - if the outpouring of love on Facebook has been anything to go by, we would suggest not turning up without a booking.
