Toasted sandwiches at Sydney's gilded Aria restaurant? You betcha.

The hatted Circular Quay fine-diner has introduced an entry-level eating option for the first time in the restaurant's 20-year run.

While the prices won't completely rub the platinum shine from credit cards, they are on the reasonable side for Sydney's top end.

Any day of the week (5.30-11pm, walk-ins only) you can pull up a bar stool or sit on one of the low-slung chairs and tuck into whipped cod roe, caviar and charcoal ($16), a macadamia and acacia eclair ($12) or crab sandwich ($18).

And the toastie? It is Aria, so it's filled with wagyu.

"It's a massive first for them, straying away from the usual more formal fine-dining experience," a spokeswoman for Aria says.
