After a tough 18 months where she closed stalwart Sydney restaurant Claude's as well as her short-lived Surry Hills eatery Chow, Chui Lee Luk is back at the pans.

The chef is in the final negotiations on an undisclosed "international" creative director role, but has jumped in the kitchen in the meantime at Berta.

"I'm here until Easter, filling in until they get a full-time head chef," Lee Luk says.

Fans of her signature duck at Claude's should get along, Lee Luk knocking out the dish and serving it with a light, "Berta-style" sauce.
