Grant King quits QT

Back in March, chef Grant King was handed the keys to all of QT Sydney's food outlets. Now the onetime Pier executive chef, who focused his energy at QT's signature Gowings Bar & Grill, has handed them back. A spokesperson for the hotel confirmed King had resigned, but refused to detail what led to the quick departure of a chef who'd been keen to break the mould of typical hotel hospitality. He certainly had some culinary runs on the board before joining QT, snaring a bagful of awards at Gastro Park, where he fought the good fight in a tough location in the middle of Kings Cross. King has gone to ground, but word on Sydney's eat streets is he's taken on some consultancy work with a hospitality group in Bankstown.
