Better known for its solid classic fare than following trends, Philip Johnson is joining the pop-up madness with the downstairs bar at his iconic Adelaide Street restaurant being transformed into a burger joint at the end of January.

The pop-up Howzat Burger will operate on the last two Thursdays and Fridays of January at lunchtime with burgers priced at $10. As well as a traditional burger featuring grain fed beef with cheddar, tomato and iceberg lettuce (hurray), the burgers will come in cumin-spiced lamb with balsamic onions and mint yoghurt, chicken with bacon, red onion and avocado mayo, and a roast pork belly with classic slaw and chipotle mayo. Sides include fries with chilli and herb salt, beer-battered onion rings and slaw with chipotle mayo. And what would be a burger without a milkshake? The E'cco/Howzat versions will come in Nutella, banana and coffee. There's also beer and wine for city workers who need something harder to get themselves through to home time.

Howzat Burger will pop up at 510 Adelaide Street on Thursday and Friday (January 23-24) then Thursday 30th and Friday 31st, from 11.30am-3pm or until sold out.
