Jonkanoo to open Caribbean canteen at Goodgod

With Andrew Levins sliding out of city venue Goodgod last week, there has been much speculation about what will replace his much-loved street food.

Surry Hills's glistening new Caribbean restaurant, Jonkanoo, has secured the gig and will open a spin-off canteen in the venue after impressing Goodgod's operator, Jimmy Sing.

He reckons chef Damion Brown's jerk chicken and jerk pork are the best he has tasted, including heavy sampling of the dishes in Jamaica and Britain.
