Ezard @ Levantine Hill is a spectacular stage for the estate's wines and truffles. The building, designed by Fender Katsalidis (MONA, Eureka Tower), has a soaring curved roof line (mimicking the undulating hills of the valley), spans of glass, and stunning, barrel-shaped tasting booths.
Inside are two separate dining spaces, with menus managed by head chef Sharn Greiner (ex-Ezard, Chin Chin) and designed by Teage Ezard. "The wine comes first," says Ezard. "The influences are mainly European … showcasing Yarra Valley produce."
The All Day space's share plates include warm manchego and chive tart, and estate-grown truffle risotto.
The restaurant offers a five-course lunch ($120, plus $70 for matched wines) and eight-course dinner degustation ($180, plus $110 for matched wines) "designed to match taste and texture to wine". Vegetarian options are available.
