The name? It's a nod to one of the characters in Joseph Heller's Catch-22. The deal? Licensed daytime eatery and not-your-average takeaway from gun hospo team Niall Sandison (ex-Rockpool, Spice Temple, Pope Joan) and business partner Simon Hall (Easy Tiger), with ex-Gorski and Jones chef Federico Congiu on the pans.

With sunny outdoor seating, craft beer on tap, Dukes coffee and house-made everything the (for now) days-only operation plugs a hole in Smith Street's long-neglected south end. Sandison says they wanted to do food that was "healthy without taking all the fun out of it" and the menu features a choice of seasonal salads alongside sandwiches with creative fillings such as smoky kingfish with crunchy fennel and wasabi mayo or the insanely good tonkatsu chicken wrap with buttermilk slaw.

Open Mon-Fri 7am-3pm; Sat 8am-3pm.
