Just open: Yardmill Kitchen & Grocery

Toorak village this week welcomes food store and deli Yardmill, a ''neighbourhood kitchen and grocery'' aimed at time-poor, taste-driven and nutrition-aware locals.

The shop's beautifully earthy, barn-inspired interiors come via design team Projects of Imagination and ceramicist Shane Kent, while the monthly seasonal menu is a collaboration between owner Tracey Sisson, in-house chef Sven Schroeder and consulting nutritionist Bannie Williams. Almost everything's prepared on site and confessed "food tragic" Sisson sources much of the produce locally.

Healthy, ready-made meals such as pomegranate and quinoa-crusted barramundi are available to go and there's a handful of seats so you can linger over your green smoothie or coffee. Open Monday-Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday 9am-6pm.
