Alexandria's super slick retail cafe, L'Americano, has a new bouncing baby sibling in Castle Hill.

Sitting alongside furniture and interiors store Coco Republic, L'Americano takes its design cues from 1950s Italian Riviera and the film, The Talented Mr Ripley. If anything, the newly opened Castle Hill venue is a step up from the Alexandria original.

"L'Americano exudes the old-world charm of a 1950s Italian espresso bar on the Riviera," a spokeswoman for the venue says.

While Glebe Point Diner chef Alex Kearns consulted on the menu when Alexandria opened in 2015, the venue is now confident enough in the product to open Castle Hill without a named chef attached.

The breakfast menu features Italian-themed dishes, while lunch includes linguine with grilled calamari, cotoletta di pollo and an L'Americano salad.

"Jazz music plays throughout the cafe, a high standard of service is a huge part of why we have the cafes here," the spokeswoman adds.

Open Mon-Sat 8.30am-4.30pm; Sun 9.30am-4.30pm.
