Magic Mountain Saloon opening soon

If it's anything like previous ventures, Magic Mountain Saloon has "surefire hit" written all over it.

Camillo Ippoliti, the man behind Boney, Thai diner Cookie and music venues the Toff in Town and Revolver, has cooked up a new CBD venue.

Executive chef Karen Batson says Magic Mountain Saloon will lean towards Thai-style food, "but in a playful way", with ''Thai-style'' ham hock rillettes and the Holy Trinity ("my idea of surf and turf") of eye fillet of beef, prawns and Thai pork sausage, and meats cooked over coals.

Ippoliti has gutted the former Bridie O'Reilly's pub at 62 Little Collins Street, creating a European wine bar feel downstairs and an American loft-influenced space upstairs.

It is expected to open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner by late July.
