MasterChef winner Andy Allen is finally getting a piece of the Sydney restaurant pie, joining the Three Blue Ducks' latest venture in Rosebery as a partner. The Maitland electrician swept the field in the fourth series of the TV cooking show, picking up a few fans along the way.

"We met him when we were on MasterChef and said 'call us if you want a job after this', so he came and joined our kitchen," says Darren Robertson, the one-time head chef at Tetsuya's and current co-owner of Three Blue Ducks.

The Ducks crew has been actively expanding, branching out from its Bronte base to open its farm project just outside Byron Bay. They recently nabbed the former site of Kitchen by Mike in Rosebery. Building work is under way on the warehouse space, with an early June launch slated for Three Blue Ducks Rosebery.
