Fish and pasta and new Nordic master are on the menu for Good Food Month presented by Citi.

A Palm Springs-inspired pop-up restaurant on the rooftop of Fed Square car park will be home to a series of good-time dinners and events featuring the best chefs from Melbourne and around the country, kicking off with Andrew McConnell (Cutler & Co. et al) and Alla Wolf-Tasker (Lake House) at the Melbourne Greats party on June 13 with music, flowing wine and top-notch canapes.

Danielle Alvarez (Fred's, Sydney) will cook local veg and meat over fire at the same Melbourne Palms pop-up on June 16 and two-hatted seafood gun Josh Niland (Saint Peter, Sydney) will take over the rooftop for separate events on June 17. The chef behind The Good Food Guide 2018 New Restaurant of the Year will throw a long brunch in the morning and host a fish butchery masterclass in the afternoon where participants can sharpen their gill-to-tail knife technique and enjoy fresh seafood snacks.

For nouveau Scando cooking straight out of Copenhagen, food lovers can experience a dinner with Bo Bech on June 15 where the Danish chef will demonstrate why his restaurant, Geist, has such a large cult following of thrill-seeking food-lovers. (And why Noma's Rene Redzepi called Bech's previous restaurant, Paustian, "the most interesting place in Europe to eat".)

It will be Dave to the power of Dave on June 18 when Dave Moyle (Longsong) and Dave Verheul (Embla) join forces for a four-course dinner ("The Dave-inci Code") hosted by Good Food national editor Ardyn Bernoth, and Duncan Welgemoed (Africola, Adelaide) will warm Melbourne with a wood-fired winter feast on June 23.

Andreas Papadakis (Tipo 00), Joel Valvasori-Pereza (Lulu La Delizia, Perth) and Mitch Orr (ACME, Sydney) are on board for a spaghetti-twirling, wine-swirling pasta party on June 21, and dessert whizz Christy Tania (Glace) is teaming with the 8-Bit gurus for a series of movie, burger and ice-cream nights.

Melbourne Good Food Month 2018 runs from June 1-30. Visit goodfoodmonth.com for the full program and tickets.
