Food + Wine Victoria, the organisation behind the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, is set to deliver a new food business event in September 2019.

Called Global Table, the five-day congress is "essentially a massive trade show where people will come from around the country and around the world to gain inspiration for where they're going to take their business forward in the areas of agriculture, food and drink," says Food + Wine Victoria chairman Radek Sali.

Food + Wine Victoria is partnering with food innovation event Seeds&Chips on Global Table. Seeds&Chips was established in Milan four years ago as a meeting point for innovators, policy makers and global leaders to discuss the future of food. Speakers have included former US president Barack Obama and Starbucks executive chairman Howard Schultz.

"To partner with an organisation of this calibre on this event will make Australia a tent pole for this sort of activity throughout Asia," says Sali. "It's a unique opportunity for local growers, farmers and producers to present to and be inspired by not only people in Victoria but also internationally."
