New tenants for Piaf and Sardine Tin

South Bank's Piaf and Sardine Tin look like they will have new tenants in the New Year.

Piaf is about to become a craft beer bar - rumoured to be another venue for the owners of Newstead's Tippler's Tap, while the Sardine Tin site will transform into a Greek share plate restaurant.

South Bank's Ryan McDonald said there had been intense interest in the Piaf site with around 21 applicants wanting to take over the former French eatery.

In June, owner Simon Livingstone confirmed Piaf and Sardine Tin were for sale, but both closed suddenly last month. Livingstone also owns Survey Co. in Burnett Lane.

McDonald said leases on both sites were being finalised with work most likely to start in the New Year and possible opening dates for both around the beginning of March.

Correction: the original version of this story stated that the craft beer bar was being set up in the site of Sardine Tin. This has been changed to reflect that it will be set up in the site of Piaf, and the Greek restaurant in the site of Sardine Tin.
