The call is out for nominations for the Food for Good Award, an annual Good Food Guide gong celebrating innovation, charity and sustainability in food.

Previous winners have included the Orana Foundation, founded by chef Jock Zonfrillo to catalogue native foods and their culinary uses; Rob Caslick from Sydney's Two Good Co, a social enterprise that helps women escaping domestic violence; and StreetSmart Australia, a Melbourne-based organisation supporting people experiencing homelessness.

"Receiving the Food For Good Award was one of those pivotal moments for Two Good Co," says Caslick. "It gave us immediate credibility within the food industry and it allowed us to tell our story on a national stage. There is no doubt the leverage from the award significantly increased our social impact."

To nominate someone for this year's award, email the Good Food Guide editor, Myffy Rigby, at myffy.rigby@fairfaxmedia.com.au by July 27 saying who you think deserves the recognition and how they're using food to go above and beyond to contribute to the broader community.

The winner will be revealed at the Good Food Guide Awards, presented by Citi and Vittoria, at Melbourne's Crown Casino on October 8.
